                     Dagshai Cantonment is situated on top of a 5689 feet (1734 mtr) high hillock that stands sphinx-like astride the Kalka-Shimla Highway at a point about 11 km from Solan. Dagshai Cantonment was Founded in 1847 by securing free of cost five villages from Maharaja of Patiala. There is no authenticated record available, regarding the origin of its name. According to one legend the name was derived from the Urdu phrase "DAAG-E-SHAHI", which connote the Royal Brand/Stamp. The prisoners were branded during the Moghul times sent to Dagshai Villages .In Dagshai a jail was constructed in 1849 known as Central Jail.This jail came into limelight when a number of Irish freedom fighters were executed here, prompting Mahatma Gandhi to rush to assess the situation. Four revolutionaries of Kamagata Maru were also executed at Dagshai.The Dagshai Central Jail now being converted into a museum.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• Should have passed 10+2 exam. or its equivalent from a recognized Board of School Edu./University.
• should also possess a minimum speed of typing on computer 30 words per minute in Eng. or 25 words per minute in Hindi. 
• should have the knowledge of word processing in computer applications as prescribed by the recruiting authority. 
• Syllabus: Written test will cover the subject like Mental/Arithmetic Ability, Aptitude Test, Analytical Ability, General English, Computer Awareness, G.K. and Current Affairs with special features of India. Medium of Written Test will be in English
• Age limit: 18-25 years
