It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II.The Indian Air Force took off as a tiny fleet with four Westland Wapiti army co-operative by-planes, six RAF trained officers and 19 Hawai Sepoys. Today, it is the fourth largest Air Force in the world with a highly technical and specialised fighting force that safeguards our skies against enemy invasions

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Candidates should possess 12th Pass or equivalent.
- Must possess a speed of 35 w.p.m in English typing or 30 w.p.m in Hindi typing on computer (35 w.p.m and 30 w.p.m correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depression for each word).
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Candidates should possess 12th Pass or equivalent.
